Why Your Dentist Wants You to Post a Selfie
When I was growing up “selfie” wasn’t even a word, but now not a day goes by where we don’t hear that dreaded word. Perhaps, it’s a word that your dentist wants to hear in hopes that you are displaying their latest work, be it veneers, the product of orthodontia, or teeth whitening. Haven’t you seen the comments on those self-glorifying posts?
WOW, your teeth are so white.
You’ve got an amazing smile.
Your teeth are so perfect… I am jealous!
(from Dad) Nice to see you showing off the results of those braces your mom and I paid for.
Perhaps those comments lead to the question of who is responsible for your million dollar smile? You might even be inclined to give your dentist a shout out via social media (assuming they are engaged in social media). Or perhaps, your social media friendly dentist might see it and thank you for displaying his or her work.
On the other hand, if you are bold enough to display your need for dental work in a selfie, someone might lovingly refer you to a dentist. 🙁
The more I think about it, maybe it was a dentist who started this crazy trend known as the selfie?
